BCR Cyber Hosting No-Cost ICE-T Training for EARN Maryland and SNAP Participants in December

Successful Completion of the Program Opens Doors to High-Paying Tech Jobs

Our ICE-T program offers both a solution to building the state’s tech workforce and a pathway for underserved Maryland residents to break into new, high-paying careers.”

BALTIMORE, MD, UNITED STATES, November 3, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- BCR Cyber, a leading provider of comprehensive cybersecurity training and job placement services, today announced it is offering a no-cost Intrusion Countermeasures Education and Training Program (ICE-T) cohort scheduled to begin December 7.

The ICE-T program is a 6-month course commencing with CompTIA’s A+, Network+ and Security+ training and certification. Participants then continue on one of two tracks: BCR Cyber’s SOC Operations Analyst I (SOCOA I) and Fundamentals of AI in Cybersecurity (FAIC) training and certification or BCR Cyber’s Governance, Risk and Compliance - Applied Fundamentals (GRC-AF) training and certification – a new track with this cohort. All training involves substantial experiential learning via the BCR Cyber Series 3000 cyber range.

The GRC-AF track responds to a change the Maryland Department of Labor made to EARN Maryland in this grant cycle: a new Strategic Expansion component that funds pathways leading directly to jobs paying at or above the regional median wage. GRC-AF teaches security governance, risk assessment and compliance frameworks, including the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO/IEC 27001 and SOC 2, and concludes with a practical exercise on the Series 3000 cyber range in which participants assess controls, gather evidence, and produce compliance findings during live incident scenarios.

The ICE-T program is open to and designed for Maryland residents who are new to the IT or cyber industry which BCR Cyber provides to qualified participants under the Maryland Department of Labor’s Employment Advancement Right Now (EARN) Program and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program’s Education and Training (SNAP E&T) program. This latest cohort is made possible through part of $4.7 million in EARN grant awards from Maryland Governor Wes Moore and the Maryland Department of Labor.

“While Maryland remains at the forefront of technology and cyber innovation, the state continues to experience a significant shortage of IT and cyber professionals,” says Michael Spector, President and CEO, BCR Cyber. “Our ICE-T program offers both a solution to building the state’s tech workforce and a pathway for underserved Maryland residents to break into new, high-paying careers.”

BCR Cyber is a proud grantee of EARN Maryland, which awards funding to strategic industry partnerships that comprise employers, non-profits, higher education institutions, local workforce development boards, and local governments. Based upon employer-identified training needs, partnerships provide education and skills training to unemployed and underemployed Marylanders. The program also includes career advancement strategies for incumbent workers, leading to a more highly skilled workforce in the state.

BCR Cyber also maintains a Strategic Industry Partner Consortium of more than 40 cybersecurity employers — including Northrop Grumman, Booz Allen Hamilton, and Accenture — that shape the design and delivery of BCR Cyber’s training and recruit directly from the ICE-T program’s graduate pool to fill critical roles within their organizations. GRC-AF was developed with BCR Cyber’s consortium employers. This is the first time it has been built into ICE-T, which is designed for Marylanders with no prior IT or cyber background, with the goal of placing graduates directly into governance, risk and compliance roles at or above the state median wage.
